BOOK LAUNCH: The History of English Literature

Every year, Kijárat Publishers publishes some of the most curious and exciting works in the field of cultural studies in Hungary. In mid-January they bring the launch of a gigantic literary history project to Drei Raben.

"The History of English Literature" in numbers: 7 volumes, 3904 pages, 15 centuries of English literature, more than 80 authors, editors and proofreaders. This unparalleled scholarly endeavour draws on the latest national and international scholarship in literary history to provide a nuanced picture of the richness of English (British) literature. It includes a history of Scottish literature, an account of the tradition of women's literature and the literary representation of the British Empire, while also discussing popular and travel literature, without limiting English literature to high literature.

The volumes are presented by Tamás Bényei and Zsófia Szilágyi.
