Életrajz:
A Szegedi Tudományegyetem angol és történelem szakán végzett tanulmányaim, valamint doktori képzésem a National University of Ireland Galway Történelem Tanszékén hosszú távra megalapozták bennem az interdiszciplináris és együttműködésen alapuló kutatás igényét. Tanítási filozófiám központi elemének azt a célt tartom, hogy kurzusaim során hangsúlyozzam a szocio-politikai és kulturális kérdések összetettségét és a mindenkori történelmi kontextus fontosságát. Ezek ismeretében ugyanis a hallgatók sikeresen képesek elsajátítani a történelmi források kritikus vizsgálatának képességét és felfedezni az innovatív historiográfiai megközelítések jelentőségét. Írországi (Maynooth University, NUI Galway) tanítói tapasztalatom mellett nemzetközi kutatói tapasztalattal rendelkezem. Előadásaimmal aktív résztvevője voltam többek között az Association for the Study of Nationalities (ASN), a European Social Science History Conference (ESSHC), a European Federation of Associations and Centres of Irish Studies (EFACES), az Irish Association for Russian, Central and Eastern European Studies (IARCEES), és az American Hungarian Educators Association (AHEA) konferenciáinak.
Kutatás:
Kutatásom három fő területe közül az első Írország modern-kori történelme transznacionális megközelítésben, amivel célom az, hogy kutatóként áthidaljuk a kelet és nyugat történetírása közötti szakadékot. Ezen belül az ír nemzeti identitás témakörével és az Osztrák-Magyar Monarchia utódállamaival kiépített kapcsolatok történetével foglalkozom, különös tekintettel a nemzetállamok határait átívelő személyes találkozások jelentőségére. Újabban kutatói munkám két másik irányba is elmozdult: egyrészt az interdiszciplináris humortudományon belül kutatom a humor jelentőségét huszadik századi demokráciákban és diktatúrákban, másrészt pedig brit, amerikai, európai és magyar étel- és italtörténti kutatásokat végzek.
